Healthy skin is the first sign of the correct, normal physical development of the baby, and not just a pleasant cosmetic status. Normal skin in the baby has a uniform pink color, smooth surface and velvety.
To understand whether the child’s healthy skin is simple: draw a palm on a small body with your palm: you should not feel roughness or dryness. To provide the baby with healthy skin, it is necessary to monitor the correctness of his nutrition and the sufficiency of the water balance in his body. Only in this case, all suspicious folds will be angry, the skin turgor will be restored. If areas of dryness, redness or rashes are observed on the child’s skin, and they are held on the skin for a long time, measures must be taken.
How to determine the presence of atopia in a child?
Atopic dermatitis in children is most often due to hereditary predisposition. Other provocateurs of the disease can become certain foods, cosmetics, household dust.
Atopic dermatitis is manifested in children with different symptoms. Most often, for the first time, the ailment is observed in children of six months of age, less often from the second or third month of life of the baby. Symptoms in the disease can be as follows:
- focal rashes on the skin, having the form of redness, dryness or wet areas;
- localization of rashes: face (cheeks and area around the mouth), pens and legs (more often on folds), neck, buttocks;
- itching;
- irritability, tearfulness, violation of daytime and night sleep - against the background of the disease.
It is important to remember that any vaccinations during exacerbation of atopic dermatitis are strictly prohibited. It should be borne in mind that during remission vaccination can provoke new rashes.
How to help a child?
It is difficult, but possible to cope with atopic dermatitis in a child. The main rule is to strictly follow the doctor's recommendations. Remember that some creams and tablets will not help: you need to eliminate the root cause of the atopia. Initially, it is necessary to begin to observe a diet. For this, all products that are not suitable for the baby by age are excluded from the children's diet and are potential allergens: canned food, chocolate, seafood, condensed milk, nuts, semi -finished products and others.
Inopias of atopic dermatitis can provoke improper bathing. So that the baby’s skin after water procedures does not look drowned and did not itch, it is necessary to adhere to such rules:
- correctly process the bath before swimming. Do not use aggressive household chemistry for that. The usual soda is quite suitable;
- prepare the water. To do this, pour hot water into the bath and leave for 1-2 hours so that it settles. Do not overheat water for bathing the baby: the optimum temperature is 36-37s;
- do not use a washcloth - it even more annoys the child’s delicate skin. After bathing, carefully smack the child’s skin with a soft towel, and do not wipe it.
If, nevertheless, atopic dermatitis appears, you can calm the baby's skin in the following ways:
- Pour 1 liter of water 10 leaves of the laurel, boil and let it brew. Cool and add to the water for bathing. This infusion will help to cope with allergic manifestations.
- Oats moisturize the skin. For a children's bath use crushed oatmeal or small bran. The washed oats are scored in a gauze bag and put in a bath. Then they type water for bathing, periodically moving the bag to another place. Oats must be left to the end of the water procedure.
- Starch baths reduce itching, soften the skin and relieve irritation. For bathing 100 g of starch, mixed with a small amount of water, after which the mixture is poured into 1 liter of boiling water. The brewed starch mass is added to the finished bath and the baby is bathed.
Treatment of atopic dermatitis in a child is effective, provided that parents coordinate their actions with the appointment of a doctor.
